**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Umpiring Coordinator is responsible for the management and execution of all duties related to the effective delivery of all initiatives and activities around the recruitment, education and retention of umpires in the selected geography. Importantly, this role will be key member of a ‘HUB’ team environment executing our Community Football Competitions.

**A DAY IN THE LIFE OF**

**_Key Accountabilities:_**
- Manage the umpire coaching program in each league in the selected geography
- Provide leadership and engage with umpires and umpire coaches in the group
- Appoint umpire coaching staff and periodically review their performance
- Ensure umpires are completing all match day responsibilities including match day paperwork
- Investigate match related incidents, code of conduct and behavioural issues and follow up as required in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders
- Receive umpire reviews and disseminate to the umpires as required
- Conduct mid-season and end of year umpire group reviews
- Advocate umpiring programs ensuring quality match day environments to clubs
- Provision of assistance with appointment of umpires where required
- Conduct local initiatives in line with the AFL’s National Umpiring Development Strategy
- Contribute to key projects within and outside of core role
- Support and contribute to the success of the broader team

- Background in umpiring, coaching or administration

- Ability to engage with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategies and plans that support the recruitment, retention, and development of umpires
