**Centre for Applied Climate Sciences**:
This is a unique opportunity to join the Northern Australia Climate Program research team, working with the grazing industry to deliver innovative research, development and extension outcomes in managing drought and climate risk.

**About the Role**

In this position you will initiate, develop and conduct climate research projects of relevance to the northern Australia livestock grazing industry. The projects will include climate science and management of climate variability, extremes and change, drought resilience and preparedness, livestock physiology and environmental heat and cold stress.

**About You**

Your initiative and excellent communication skill, combined with your ability to work independently and collaboratively with fellow researchers and external partners, will be vital to your success. Additionally, you will have:

- It is essential you hold a doctoral or master’s qualification or equivalent accreditation and standing in the relevant field including Climate, Applied, Animal, Veterinary or Agricultural Science.
- Demonstrated professional experience and/or research expertise in a relevant field including Climate, Applied, Animal, Veterinary or Agricultural Science.
- High level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, relating well to people at all levels using diplomacy, tact, and sound judgement, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships.

**Term**: Full-time fixed-term appointment for 3 years (37.5hrs/week)

**Salary**: One appointment will be made at Level B or Level C, dependent on qualifications and experience.

**Level B**:Total remuneration range $119,401 to $141,128 pa (includes salary range of $100,888 to $119,246 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)

**Level C**:Total remuneration range $145,470 to $167,197 pa (includes salary range of $122,915 to $141,273 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
