**Job location**

This position is based at the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) in Clifton Hill, 15 minutes from Melbourne's city centre. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended or are at risk of offending. The position will requires travel to Youth Justice locations in metropolitan Melbourne and Cherry Creek (Little River).

**About the Role**:
The Youth Justice Lead Trainer will be part of a team of training facilitators providing suicide and self-harm (SASH) and mental health training to Youth Justice custodial staff. The position will be responsible for the revision and further development of the SASH training and other relevant training packages as required.

**Duties**:

- Participate as part of the team, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the SASH and mental health training provided to Youth Justice Victoria.
- Participate as part of the team, evaluating the SASH and mental health training program and other relevant training and present findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of SASH and mental health training to Youth Justice Victoria.
- Assist in training and provide support to new SASH and mental health trainers

**About You**:

- Detailed contemporary knowledge of youth mental health including suicide and self-harm assessment and management.
- Current knowledge of the mental health needs of Youth Justice clients in Victoria.
- Demonstrated training and development experience
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is highly desirable
- Relevant clinical qualification as an RPN, OT, SW or Psychologist.
- Proven ability to coordinate, facilitate and evaluate training and development programs
- Understanding and delivery of adult based learning principals and contemporary learning programs

**Nursing**
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

**Occupational Therapy**
- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia - Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

**Psychology**
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent, or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

**Social Work**
- Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
