Why this role matters
The Salvation Army Australia’s Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children’s and parenting services, counselling, support, men’s programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to provide outreach case management support to women and women with children who have experienced and/or are currently experiencing family violence. The role also encompasses the delivery of assessment and crisis response.
Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed-term (until June 2025), full-time position based in Sunshine,VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will successfully- Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care.- Provide Case management support to clients.- Make ongoing assessment of the client’s issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit.- Assist clients to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers.- Ensure key performance indicators are met in accordance with outcome measurement time frames.- Maintain accurate, up to date client records and data for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems.- Identify risks to clients, staff and TSA and bring them to the attention of the Team Leader as soon as possible.- Identify Service gaps and recommendations for service delivery improvements are made to the Team Leader.
You will have- A tertiary qualification in Social Work (essential).- A valid and current VIC Employee Working With Children Check (essential).- A valid VIC Driver’s licence (essential).- Experience working in the family violence sector (desirable).- Experience in specialist family violence and/ or child well being work (highly desirable).- Demonstrated case management experience and skills.- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision required.- Advance computer skills including experience in data and record management.
