**About the role**:
As the Plant Community Ecologist, the primary focus of your position is to provide technical scientific support to Parks Victoria with a strong emphasis on botany and flora ecology. You will provide advice, develop and implement environmental research and monitoring projects and programs, communicate results and help use these results to improve park management. You will work with planning and operational staff across the state and collaborate with external research partners and students to establish applied research and monitoring projects that address important knowledge gaps and help improve conservation.
**We're looking for someone with**:
- A post-graduate degree in botany, ecology, environmental science or environmental management, coupled with expertise in flora ecology, plant conservation and/or landscape ecology
- Sound understanding of Victoria's ecosystems, conservation and environmental management
- Experience in designing and implementing field-based ecological research and monitoring, data management and statistical analysis and the ability to communicate science to diverse audiences
