The mission is to safeguard, advocate for, and uphold the rights, dignity, choices, and preferences of the residents of NSW. There are two vacant Governance Officer requirements in this organisation to start ASAP in Parramatta.

**The Job.**
Reporting into the Senior Governance Officer, you will be mainly responsible for the following duties:

- Advise staff on corporate governance issues, statutory requirements, and ethics.
- Deliver training to promote effective governance and ethical conduct.
- Investigate internal reports and disclosures, including public interest matters.
- Analyse governance data and prepare compliance reports.
- Develop and maintain ethics, compliance, and risk management policies.
- Support enterprise risk management and internal audits.
- Provide secretariat support for the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Assist with other governance and compliance processes as required.

**You.**
To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the following areas:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications, industry certifications and/or equivalent experience in delivery of corporate governance, compliance, risk management and investigations.
- Min 12 months experience in a similar Governance Officer role with a focus on internal audit and ethics/compliance
- Previous experience within the public sector will be preferred
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence key internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage secretariat and executive support activities
