**Overview of the role**
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a **minimum of 2 years’ Indirect Category** procurement experience, to work for one of the largest Insurers in Australia. You will be working with a highly experienced procurement team where you will learn, network and be mentored in procurement and have exposure to all levels of the business to take your career to the next level.
The Procurement Consultant is a dual role focusing on both Category Management and Vendor Management. You will have vendor management accountabilities for Indirects supplier arrangements owned by Procurement on behalf of the Group, as well as Category Management accountabilities across Marketing, CX and Indirects.
This position is a 12 month fixed term contract, with likely opportunities to move into other procurement roles at Suncorp after this time.
**What you’ll do**:
- Procurement and Contract Management for Indirect Category
- Develop and implement category plans, sourcing strategies and/or negotiation strategies including:
- Gather appropriate market and industry intelligence about categories in scope
- Identify initiatives that derive benefits, through sourcing, demand management and/or contract management opportunities
- Define appropriate supply models for each category of spend
- Determine the roles & responsibilities between Procurement and stakeholders within the Suncorp Group; this will involve an assessment of complexity, existing intellectual property, risk, legal requirements, budget ownership and other relevant factors
- Maintain existing Suppliers and Contracts including:
- Planning for a pipeline of contract renewal activity
- Ensuring contract renewals are competitive, delivered through an appropriate supply model and well scoped
- Manage supplier performance including SLA’s governance and other contract deliverables
- Execute extensions, variations and terminations of legal instruments that meet stakeholders’ business needs
**What you’ll bring**:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement. Mandatory
- Experience with Corporate Indirects type agreements. Desired
- Experience in a centre led procurement/commercial environment providing services to a broad customer base. Desired
- Experienced in achieving and being accountable for tangible commercial results. Mandatory
- Experience in delivering quality outputs within tight timeframes within a standardised project management framework and structured procurement approach. Mandatory
- Strong negotiation skills demonstrated across a range of supplier, commercial and internal stakeholder management contexts
