**Role**:
**The attendance required for this position is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:36pm.**

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.

Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.

An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

**Responsibilities**:
**Management**
- Manage the library and associated programs in reference to the library strategic plan and in service of the broader goals of the college.
- Ensure adherence to library policies relating to programs, collection development and library use.
- Manage productive relationships with the Information Services of Elevation¿s tertiary partners.
- Identify issues that impact on service delivery within Elevation library and broader information literacy issues and provide recommendations to address them.
- Lead the library team (Collections and Reader Service Librarian, Literacy Officer) to ensure a high standard of service and fulfillment of individual duties.
- Manage and adhere to the existing budget ensuring that spending aligns with budgetary allocations.
- Make informed decisions regarding the allocation of resources within the existing sub-program budget framework to effectively meet evolving needs and priorities.

**Reference services**
- Provide reference support and consulting services to staff, particularly in support of PLC learning cycles and resource selection.
- Process requests and purchase teacher resources for all faculties.
- Deliver resources to teaching teams within copyright best practice.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant developments in curriculum and pedagogical research.
- Provide relevant PD resource summaries to Leading Teachers and Learning Specialists.
- Provide reference services to students in collaboration with relevant faculties.

**Book Lists**
- Ensure prompt delivery of the finalised booklist to Campion.
- Ensure the booklist is properly communicated to and accessible to all families.
- Collect data around book purchases.

**Wider Reading Program**
- Co-facilitation of Wider Reading Program (reading sessions) for Years 7 and 8.
- Consult with English teachers, the Literacy Coordinator and the Library Literacy Officer to review student progress, make appropriate adjustments and track students¿ reading journal data.

**Textbook Loan Program**
- Manage the Textbook Loans program, ensuring that students receive resources in a timely manner.
- Consult with Wellbeing and Coordination teams to confirm students who are eligible for the scheme.
- Keep track of due by dates and ensure students are returning resources on time and complying to the Textbook Loans policy.

**Non-Fiction Collection Development**
- Development of the non-fiction collection to support the curriculum.

**Supervision**
- Lunchtime supervision will be alongside another library staff member.
- Lunchtime supervision will be rostered.
- Active supervision of students during lunchtimes, ensuring students are meeting library expectations, particularly regarding food in the library, keeping noise levels down and lining up correctly when the library is full.
