The Cafe Supervisor will be a key member of the Georgie Boy Espresso team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cafe. The role involves supervising and leading staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and managing inventory and supplies. The Cafe Supervisor plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for customers while supporting the achievement of business goals.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and motivate cafe staff.
- Schedule shifts and allocate tasks to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Handle employee-related matters, such as conducting performance evaluations and addressing any issues that arise.
- Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered to all patrons.
- Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging repeat business and customer loyalty.
**Cafe Operations**:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the cafe.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.
Manage and troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinating repairs or maintenance when necessary.
**Inventory Management**:
- Track cafe inventory levels and place orders for necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Receive and inspect deliveries to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Manage stock rotation to minimise waste and maximise freshness.
**Financial Management**:
- Assist in monitoring and controlling operational costs to meet budgetary targets.
- Prepare and maintain reports on sales, expenses, and inventory levels.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve efficiency.
**Menu Management**:
- Collaborate with the owner in designing and updating the menu.
- Ensure that all menu items are prepared and presented according to established standards.
**Requirements**:
**Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the coffee/cafe industry.**
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with staff and customers.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, hygiene standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and reporting.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
As the cafe supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cafe's success by fostering a positive work environment, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining operational efficiency. Georgie Boy Espresso is only 5 months new, the role will suit someone who wants to make the cafe their own and grow with the business. The cafe is takeaway only with limited food with the focus being on beverage. Experience in social media content creation would be highly advantageous.

Part-time hours: 40 per week
**Salary**: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
