We are seeking an experienced Policy / Project officer with knowledge and experience in local government and events to develop an Events Framework with inclusion of an Events Policy for the management of commercial events.
The aim of this role is to strategically guide the production of events and festivals for 2024/2025 and beyond, as well as support the management of community and other appropriate commercial events with demonstrable community benefit held on suitable council-owned or controlled land.
**Responsibilities**:
- Research and benchmark with other local government bodies regarding events policies and event frameworks
- Research and benchmark with other local government bodies regarding their commercial event permit processes, administration procedure, and pricing structure
- Consult with key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders as required
- Collaborate with the Arts & Culture teams regarding the existing community events permit process and systems issues
- Collaborate with various departments regarding current event framework and priorities
- Develop a commercial event process, pricing structure, and process for administration
**Requirements**:
- Experience in event administration and delivery
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder management
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Knowledge and experience in local government and events
