Our client is seeking to engage Budgets and internal reporting (APS5) officer. Section 26 transfers are preferred but non-ongoing will be considered (6-12 months)

**About the Role**:
The Budgeting & Reporting Directorate will manage the NPS Program budget in accordance with Commonwealth requirements including Budget Process Operational Rules, Estimates Memorandums, timetables, processes, and procedures, including:

- Approve draft Appropriation Bills, advise, and respond to Department to support Budget timelines, including data to support the Commonwealth Budget Management System (CBMS), FOREX, movement of funds and reclassifications etc. and Portfolio Budget Statements, Portfolio Additional Estimates Statements and Department’s Annual Report. Support other Commonwealth Budget reporting e.g., the regional budget statement.
- Appropriations management and end of year cash management.
- Advise and respond to Department to support internal budget activities e.g., Integrated Investment Program (IIP), Bi-Annual Unapproved Capital Update.
- Provide strategic advice and contestability on budget pressures, over-programming risks and opportunities in the planning, development and execution of business plans and budgets.
- Manage budget reviews and updates as part of the Commonwealth budget cycle, including major budget reviews for the NPS acquisition program and sustainment, workforce and operating. This includes providing advice and assurance on foreign exchange exposures, capital/operating mix and government approval limits.
- Support the Director General of the Agency, Division Heads, and their management teams to manage their allocated budgets, including aligning budget with business activities, and advice on managing budget pressures and project slippage.
- Provide the Agency Finance Business Partner service to Divisions and Branches this includes Senate Estimate finance briefs, financial performance reporting, financial advice and services such as internal budget development and management including supporting entry into Department’s Financial Systems, credit card approvals, internal audit.
- Support the business in managing the internal budget on corporate financial systems including budget adjustments, forecasting and phasings.
- Support Divisions and Branches to manage Agency’s end of financial year expenditure to achieve a balanced budget outcome.
- Coordinate / Manage the response to all finance related QoNs, FOIs etc.
