Our NSW Planning group is currently seeking to appoint a **Planning Officer** in a full-time capacity for a fixed term until 30 June 2024.

**A**bout You**

The Planning Officer assists with the implementation of specific planning projects with a focus on planning delivery and collaboration including with local councils and other key stakeholders in line with relevant Government and Department policies and objectives.
- Produce high quality work on a range of planning matters and respond to enquiries in a timely manner within applicable legislation, regulatory and policy frameworks
- Identify and contribute to planning initiatives in a dynamic and complex environment with tight timeframes, competing priorities and conflicting stakeholders needs, views and opinions
- Translate complex technical information into easy-to-understand plain English guidelines, reports and communications
- High performing and driven individual who can demonstrate a strong understanding of statutory planning
- Has an interest in housing supply and housing development in NSW, including Seniors housing and Build-to-rent.

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Experience in the development of policy to improve assessment processes and to guide the assessment of the merits of projects
- Experience communicating with various internal and external stakeholders including the ability to deal with the community and professional industry to achieve the best possible outcome

**Essential requirements**
- Tertiary degree qualification in Town Planning or other relevant qualifications
- Applied knowledge of relevant environmental assessment and planning legislation and processes
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, project management and customer service
- Willingness to travel and Class C Driver’s Licence for regional positions
