**ABOUT THIS ROLE**
Data Centre Technician (Multiple) - RFQ-ASD-42-2023 - SOW 1 - Rereleased
Technology Foundation - High Side Infrastructure Group (TF-HSI) within the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), will deliver cutting edge capabilities to support ASD's Signals Intelligence and Offensive Cyber Capabilities. These capabilities consists of a combination of:

- Delivery of new capability under the REDSPICE program,
- Delivery of ASD's major capability programs, and
- Enhancing and modernising existing capabilities.

To facilitate this requirement through a variety of different programmes and projects, ASD has a requirement for a Data Centre Specialist. The Data Centre Specialist will be responsible to assist with the acquisition and sustainment of infrastructure and data centre activities, including installation, removal, and testing and configuration management.
To facilitate this ASD has a requirement for a Data Centre Specialist (ICT Data Centre Technician), multiple positions.
The Specified Person will be expected to demonstrate attributes of SFIA Level of Responsibility 4.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide support in Defence Enterprise Data Centres across multiple environments for highly classified networks.
- Maintain and sustain, build, test, upgrade and document systems in Defence Enterprise Data Centre.
- Plan, Install, troubleshoot and oversee multi-vendor installations of hardware, and contribute to decommissioning old hardware to quality standards.
- Maintain and provision enterprise data centre infrastructure. Investigate, analyse and assist with the resolution of issues with facilities, data hall space, power and cooling where required, identify and rectify operational problems across IT infrastructure, and investigate and diagnose networks problems in a multi-vendor environment.
- Upgrade software and firmware of data centre infrastructure, intelligent racks, PDUs, access control systems and DCIM software.
- Identify and assess the risks associated with project activities, and develop and implement strategies to reduce those risks.
- Work as part of a team to manage incidents, problems, continuous services improvement and workflows to meet deadlines.
- Engage and liaise with assigned project representatives and other support teams regarding data centre deliverables.
- Assist with the preparation of status reports and prepare other project documentation, including work packages, project and support plans.
- Assist in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures and standards and comply with internal administrative and Standard Operating Procedures.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED**
- Certification and/or industry qualifications in Data Centre Operations (highly desirable)
- Proven experience in Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) configuration systems, testing and installations. Experience in the management of data hall hardware, network devices, power distribution units and associated CRAC or CRAH cooling systems.
- Proven experience in Data Centre design - knowledge in AC, DC power systems and cooling.
- Proven experience with network protocols and technologies in order to troubleshoot network connectivity and routing issues.
- Australian Citizenship and a TSPV security clearance is essential.
