**About the Role**:
This is an exciting permanent opportunity to join our team as System Operation Planner based in our CBD, Geelong, Ardeer, or Richmond depot.

A busy and critical role, you will work as part of a team and will also be responsible to provide operational advice and direction to other business units, external operating authorities and customers.

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Undertake switching operations: Sub-transmission network and distribution HV & LV network etc.
- Develop and implement sub-transmission HV and LV switching instructions.
- Perform system analysis to determine outage requirements.
- Prepare and maintain data base of Sub-Transmission and Distribution
- Customer notification of planned outage
- Ensuring the busines meets its regulatory and OH&S obligations.
- Implement appropriate contingency plans and risk management measures.
- Conduct safety inspections.
- Carry out inspections of Zone substations for security and condition of plant.

**To succeed in this role you’ll have**:

- Certificate of Technology (Electrical)/ Certificate IV Electrical/ Associate or Advanced Diploma Electrical Engineering of equivalent tertiary-based qualification.
- Very good working knowledge of the electrical network, HV electrical network.
- Working understanding of VESI & Company Operating procedures.
- IT Systems - SCADA, DMS, GIS, EDNAR
- Good understanding of relevant regulatory codes.
- Understanding of construction & maintenance work methods including Z/Substation work & Live Line.
- Ability to communicate complex operational issues, technical & non-technical.
