**About the Role**

As part of the EAPNG Operating Division, you will lead a team of skilled multi-disciplinary Engineers and facilitate the change in approach in which we maximise on all opportunities within the project development lifecycle. You will spearhead technical assessments and provide engineering support for a diverse range of projects, from ideation to implementation with an essential focal point on cost optimisation initiatives.

You will ensure that every project achieves its full potential through meticulously crafted, fit-for-purpose designs, with a special focus on the dynamic Concept Select and FEED phases. You will be actively involved with strategic decision-making, working from ideation to implementation, balancing risk and reward to drive improvements in project Net Present Value (NPV) during the front-end loading (FEL) phases.

As a leader in our team, you'll uphold the highest standards of excellence, ensuring full compliance with both Australian and Santos Standards, as well as our asset Operating Philosophy.

Key accountabilities include:

- Delivering FEL for a portfolio of EAPNG projects to improve project value enabling access a greater reserve base.
- Ensuring development project scope adheres to the asset Operating Philosophy in what it delivers.
- Owners Engineering input to prevent scope drift in FEED and Detailed design - fit for purpose design, ensuring compliance with Santos, Australian and international specifications and standards.
- Identifying opportunities to exploit the resource differently, at lower cost or improve resource recovery.
- Balances Risk and Reward in design - inherently safe & operable facilities at the lowest lifecycle cost.
- Work closely & collaboratively with Development and Project Managers ensuring key deliverables are in place to meet project milestones and assurance gates.

**About You**

**Professional Experience**:
Essential:

- Substantial experience in oil and gas or similar industry.
- Solid experience as a practicing engineer in Oil and Gas Upstream or Processing facilities, practicing in the Process Engineering discipline.
- Leading engineering teams in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production company, preferably in support of both Operations and project teams.
- Familiar with relevant Australian and ASME standards as applicable to Oil and Gas industry

**Qualifications**:
Essential:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering
- Chartered Engineer and eligible for RPEQ

Desired:

- Post graduate qualification in Project Management.
