As Data Librarian, you will be responsible for providing high quality technical expertise and advice on data retention requirements and appropriate digital storage, as well as best practices in metadata classification to support long term preservation of University data.

The University is an industry leader in relation to our migration to cloud technology, and this role will see you be an important part of the future-focused and transformational work currently being done to ensure the safe storage of our research data. The ever-growing volume of this data drives a need to review the data currently stored, and the standards in place to ensure the University is making the best use of available resources.

In this role you will:

- Manage metadata by establishing quality standards, and supporting the creation and reporting of University data
- Map the legislative requirements to appropriate cost-effective storage solutions for research data
- Promote awareness of quality metadata through training, documentation, and advice to staff

This fixed-term position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

**How will you inspire us?**:
You will have:

- A high degree of technical and data literacy
- Ability to interpret data policies and legislation
- Experience creating data lifecycles and quality standards

This role does not require demonstrated expertise in cloud technology, however, you must have the proven ability to understand data requirements. You will be working closely with a technical team, who will migrate the data as per your advice.

**What we offer**:
The remuneration for this position is from $82,707 +17% superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.

- Excellent organisation and time management abilities, with high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills including the capacity to build relationships and an inter-disciplinary way of working and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
