**Role**:
[Attendance for this role is Wednesday and Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm and Thursday 12.00pm - 4.30pm

An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the _Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic)_ or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

This role includes assisting teachers by undertaking specific support tasks or the coordination of the support function carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available.

**Responsibilities**:

- Setting up equipment and food for use in demonstration and class practice.
- Clearing away equipment and materials after use and check that they are maintained in a safe, clean and ready to use condition
- Checking and maintaining equipment in working order and effect simple repairs where possible
- Maintain records of stock in hand
- Maintain a record of faulty equipment and breakage
- Assist with ordering supplies
- Check deliveries and store appropriately
- Assist staff with enforcement of appropriate safety measures
- Assist students in relation to their equipment needs
- Wash dishes, cutlery, heavy saucepans and sundry utensils e.g. equipment used by teachers for demonstrations
- Launder tea towels, dish cloths, table linen etc
- Maintain a hygienic and clean environment in the home economics department
- Other duties as determined by the Principal/Business Manager
