As the Nursing Director, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, governance, and direction (in and after hours across 7 days) for the SHCC. The role balances and integrates strategic and operational perspectives within a specified span of appointment. You will ensure the health system is working efficiently, using available capacity across the system to manage patients, resulting in improved patient flow and outcomes, and ambulance utilisation and have a holistic view of a patient’s end to end journey, being able to monitor and support a balanced system response to issues before they have an impact on patient care.

The South Australian State Health Control Centre Centre (SHCC) will provide 24/7 real time visibility end to end of on patient flow across the system, using existing data and shared insights to identify issues and patterns, enabling an earlier response before they have an impact on the system or patient care. The Centre will use real-time information systems, monitoring patients awaiting ambulances, people waiting for the ED, people waiting in the ED to be admitted, people waiting to be discharged, inter-hospital transfers and regional patients in metro hospitals, and a newly build real time communications platform to coordinate responses and actions.

The successful applicant will be required to work over 7 day roster.
