**JOB DESCRIPTION**
As a Data Analyst in the Client Tax team**_,_** you will be responsible for supporting the client deliverable process by using data mining and data analysis skills to reconcile accounting data to tax data. We have different data views that we have to maintain for our client investment portfolios that serve different purposes. Our client portfolios may contain hundreds of lines of assets with thousands of lines of transactions going through in any given month for which many pieces of data are collected and / or generated. Different pieces of this data are used for different client requirements, however elements of this data must reconcile each month.

Working within the Fund Services division of Investor Services, you’ll work close with the Tax and Accounting teams to understand their data needs and help solve data discrepancies by developing a deep understanding of our core platforms.

Our client base includes large industry superannuation funds and managed investment trusts based in Australia. The firm’s Securities Services business has experienced significant growth recently due to a number of major wins and is now Australia’s largest by Assets Under Custody.

**Job responsibilities**
- Resolve monthly reconciliation breaks between tax and accounting records that involves deep analysis into large data sets, within set SLAs
- Develop a deep understanding of the key team reporting requirements that help drive their data needs
- Problem solve the data issues that arise from various processes that are run
- Understand key processes and their potential impact to our data
- Develop efficient ways and make use of available tools that enable faster data investigations
- Establish and evolve the SOPs (standard Operating Procedures) for the reconciliation investigation processes that enable better transfer of knowledge
- Improve processes and document
- Build relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Provide key input into projects as required which could include new technology, enhancements, or new products
- Pass on knowledge and train others on data analysis

**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Some understanding of tax and accounting concepts
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data analysis role
- Strong excel skills plus experience with other tools such as Alteryx

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Experience in the Funds industry is preferred
