We now have a rare opportunity for an experienced Regional Manager to bring their business acumen and passion for supporting Residential Aged Care (RAC) homes. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the RAC Northern Region which currently includes 7 Sydney/Central Coast + 5 Regional homes. In this integral role, you will provide leadership and support to ensure the effective operation of all residential aged care homes across your region, delivering on objectives outlined within the business plan.
Reporting to the Chief Residential Officer, you will oversee the delivery of high quality residential aged care services, ensuring the teams have sufficient training and experience to provide high quality services to residents in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards and Catholic Healthcare’s Mission and Values. Your ability to oversee the financial performance of the homes within your region, through the careful management of resident occupancy levels, AN-ACC funding, P & L management, approval of expenditure, and team rostering and labour costs in line with the master roster, will be critical to support your success. Our homes are also supported by several other regional specialist roles - Regional Quality Improvement Specialists, Regional Wellbeing and Leisure Specialists and Regional Workplace Educators.
You will have exceptional interpersonal skills and bring a collaborative approach to your work as well as a demonstrated track record for building and leading strong teams. Importantly, you’ll also be able to strike a positive balance between the professional, commercial and care aspects of your role and our organisation.
You will also be responsible for;
- Providing business leadership and support to ensure the achievement of KPIs for the RAC homes
- Providing leadership and coaching to the residential managers within your region
- Work collaboratively with your peers to ensure the overall success of the organisation
- Acting as an effective conduit between on-site Residential Managers and Support Office
- Ensuring onsite compliance standards around Accreditation, WHS and Food Standards are continually applied
- Ensuring ongoing transparent communication and prompt escalation where appropriate
- Successfully leading teams through change management and continuous improvement
- Working collaboratively with all levels of care staff through complex accreditation processes
The ideal applicant will have a enthusiastic approach, exceptional communication, problem solving and influencing skills together with the ability to effectively negotiate positive outcomes. Additionally, you will possess the following:
- Completion of tertiary qualifications in nursing, healthcare, or similar (Bachelor of Nursing)
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
- MBA would be an advantage, but not essential
- Thorough understanding of the Aged Care Legislation and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
- Significant experience managing a single-site residential aged care home
- Strong understanding of clinical governance frameworks, AN-ACC programs, and government accreditation criteria
- Strong team leadership experience, with demonstrated abilities across all people management activities
- Effective understanding of the financial drivers of a business - revenue, costs, investments with ability to interpret and use a P&L
- Effective conflict resolution skills with a high emotional intelligence
- Demonstrated understanding of AN-ACC funding
- This is a role that requires within state travel and being highly contactable in a collaborative and helpful manner
- A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and own motor vehicle is essential
- Willingness to obtain a Police Check
