This role will see you support the Qantas Engine and Component Maintenance (ECMS) business unit with technical issue investigations and resolution, regulatory compliance issues and the investigations of quality & safety issues. You will work on changes to compliance and production data, and be creative, intuitive and methodical, having a continuous improvement attitude.

As a Technical Officer - ECMS your typical duties will include supporting the department with your broad aircraft systems/component technical knowledge, reading and assessing complex drawings, specifications and approved data, maintaining compliance to latest approved data, communicating with suppliers and internal Engineering teams on trouble-shooting of aircraft component technical issues, tooling and testing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and implement allocated technical support and provide follow-up support- Prepare and amend technical documentation, information systems, technical drawings, computer software/hardware, repair schemes and where applicable secure appropriate approvals- Work with personnel and where formal engineering approval is required, contact Engineering Services to develop, document and implement solutions to improve maintenance practices, to address equipment malfunctions and introduce new or modify existing equipment, facilities and services- Manage and coordinate capability development from feasibility to product being on the capability list- Provide a high level of detailed analysis to support recommendations to CMS management- Coordination of quality and regulatory compliance, by conducting compliance assessments and final reviews for Part 145 readiness of products to Qantas, CASA, EASA and/or FAA standards- Perform Airworthiness Directive checks for customer products on demand- Prepare and develop personnel and workshop for upcoming audits. Coordinate follow-up action for corrective actions- Aircraft trade background or Engineering Degree in a Mechanical or Aeronautical discipline
- _Graduates are encouraged to apply_- General understanding of relevant legislation- Working knowledge of CASA, and FAA regulations- Demonstrated ability to incorporate process and procedures to ensure compliance- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written- Ability to effectively communicate on all levels including management- Demonstrated experience in handling confidential and or sensitive information- Able to work effectively and cohesive in a team environment- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to persuade managers, supervisors and peers using logical and methodical and articulate technical language- Proficient in MS package
