A joint venture between John Holland and Gamuda Australia has been selected by Transport for NSW to deliver the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace Southern Package - a key missing link in one of the country’s busiest transport corridors.

The $1.029 billion southern package will deliver a 10-kilometre dual carriageway motorway extension between Black Hill and Tomago. It will have 8 bridges that include a 2.6km viaduct and new congestion-busting interchanges at Black Hill, Tarro and Tomago.

**About the role**:
We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic **Sustainability Coordinator **to join our M1 Project based in Newcastle. You will assist in the planning, support and reporting for all aspects of environment and sustainability on the M1 project. Assignments may involve assisting in researching and implementing sustainability innovations, environmental monitoring and control measures, site inspections, data management, sustainability rating submissions and risk management.

**What you will do**:

- Assist in delivering environmental support to projects in accordance with activities, project plans or specifications
- Assist in a cross section of development, delivery and project based activities.
- Assist engineers, shift supervisors and foreman to install and maintain environmental controls and mitigation measures
- Assist in the planning, support and reporting for all aspects of the Program and Project work execution
- Ensure that the obligations of every individual to have a duty of care for people, community, Safety, Quality, Environment etc. are supported

**To be successful in this role**:

- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a Graduate Sustainability or Environment Advisory position.
- Aspiration to be an environmental or sustainability professional, with the intention of studying a Certificate or Bachelor.
- Capable of using Microsoft office and other standard computer programs
- Willingness to learn, with an intertest in the environment and sustainability.
- High School certificate or equivalent administrative experience
