**Background**

The Western Australian School Canteen Association Inc. (WASCA) is a not-for-profit health promotion charity that provides nutrition and food service support. You will be part of a leading public health organisation and a community that share the WASCA vision to create a sustainable, equitable and healthy food environment.

WASCA provides information, advice, resources and training to assist schools, sport clubs, recreation centres, community groups and events, health services/facilities and workplaces to establish and maintain healthy, profitable food services.

WASCA works in partnership with government and other non-government organisations.

**Position: Trainer**

WASCA is seeking an experienced qualified trainer to join the team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for planning and delivering training, including but not limited to food safety and hygiene training:
1. Accredited Food Safety Supervisor training

a. Face to face full day training

b. Approximately 8 hours of delivery per session (plus administration hours); 1-2 sessions per month

2. FoodSafe Food Handler training

a. Face to face or online/virtual (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom)

b. Approximately 90 minutes delivery (plus administration hours); 1-2 sessions per month.

Casual contract, approximately 15-30 hours per month.

All equipment will be provided at the WASCA office located in the Department of Education, 151 Royal Street, East Perth, Western Australia. An attractive remuneration package will be offered for this role, including the option to salary package.

**Selection criteria**

**Essential**:
1. TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment, or higher

2. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of training face to face

3. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills

4. High level interpersonal skills to positively build effective working relationships, drive engagement, motivate others and influence change

5. Working with Children Check

6. Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check processed through the Department of Education Screening Unit (or willingness to apply)

7. Current driver’s licence

8. Commitment to WASCA’s Health Policy and Code of Conduct.

**Desirable**:
9. Demonstrated experience in the delivering training online/virtual/video conference

10. Demonstrated understanding of food businesses e.g. school canteens.

Knowledge of schools, school canteens, and food and nutrition will also be viewed favourably.
