As an Education Registrar, you'll collaborate with seasoned medical professionals to develop innovative educational materials and curriculum, tailored to the unique demands of emergency medicine.

With a focus on instructional design, you'll help create and deliver engaging teaching materials, organize workshops and courses, and facilitate simulation-based learning experiences. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to pursue a Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education at our expense, supported by dedicated guidance throughout your journey.

**Brief Summary of the job description**:

- 12-month appointment 0.5 FTE Special Skills post for Medical education.
- Completion of logbook and education portfolio/project as per ACEM requirements
- Supervised by FACEM consultants with extended qualifications in education, simulation, and debriefing.
- Dedicated non-clinical time to pioneer new modalities in medical education.
- Clinical FTE: undertakes clinical shifts overseeing the care of all patients, supervising junior doctors, and promoting the well-being of patients and staff.

**Essential criteria**:

- Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Registered as a late phase Advanced Trainee with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to provide medical education, including teaching, supervision, training and support to resident medical officers and interns.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively engage with patients, families, medical students, junior doctors and staff at all levels.
- Active participation in continuing medical education, including regular performance reviews to maintain and upgrade knowledge & skills
- Engagement with the Australian Curriculum Framework for junior doctors

**Desirable criteria**:

- Proven leadership in Emergency team management, clinical decision making and patient flow.
- Committed to enhancing patients outcomes through continuous improvement.
- Dedicated to ongoing professional development in acute care medicine, including ALS, APLS EMST
