**About the Position**:

Monash Council is looking for an enthusiastic and driven person for the position of LGBTIQA+ Partnerships Officer to work within the Gender Diversity & Equity Team. The successful applicant will be responsible for:
Supporting the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Council’s LGBTIQA+ Action Plan

Coordinating Council’s LGBTIQA+ Advisory Committee and Internal LGBTIQA+ working group

Providing comprehensive advice and support to enable the organisation to work towards the Rainbow Tick Accreditation requirements.

Building the internal capacity of Council staff through training and other professional development opportunities.

**Skills and Experience**:
Tertiary qualifications in health promotion, community development, public policy or related disciplines.

Previous experience working in a community development or advocacy role.

An understanding of local government’s role in promoting LGBTIQA+ inclusion.

Knowledge of the relevant Government legislation, Rainbow Tick Accreditation and other policies to improve the health and wellbeing of the LGBTIQA+ community.

Involvement in leading evidence-based program design, implementation and evaluation.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders from a broad range of sectors.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal and a proactive attitude.
