**About Us**:
Ministerial Services, Policy Reform and Programs (MSPRP) comprise several business units, including: Ministerial Services and Coordination, Policy Reform and Programs and Redress Design. These business units are responsible for providing critical departmental and Ministerial coordination support and delivering essential family violence programs and crime prevention grants. MSPRP is also responsible for delivery of priority justice policy reforms in line with departmental and Ministerial priorities. It also leads on crime prevention, family violence and the public intoxication reforms. MSPRP teams work in a dynamic environment, requiring agile policy teams to respond to key priorities as they arise.

**About the Role**:
As the Policy Officer, you will be responsible for assisting the development and progression of sound policy and strategic advice to senior department executives on key coordination activities. Where appropriate, this may include engaging with key stakeholders to ensure quality advice.

You will work with the team to contribute to a range of project specific work. This may include briefing products, stakeholder engagement and secretariat support.

Some of your duties will include:

- Undertaking coordination and engagement activities to assist in the development of department wide advice to relevant Ministers and departmental executives on a wide variety of issues.
- Contributing expertise to a team working on key coordination activities with some guidance and direction, to ensure development of considered briefings, advice and delivery of project objectives.
- With some guidance and direction, leading the delivery of key activities to contribute to project delivery of coordination activities including engaging with relevant stakeholders, recognising potential barriers and developing options to deal with them.

**About You**:

- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the successful delivery of whole of department coordination processes.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare well-written, timely, concise, accurate and audience-appropriate briefings and reports.
- Sound knowledge of Cabinet and Parliamentary processes.
- Qualifications:_
- A tertiary qualification in a related discipline would be highly desirable.
