**The Opportunity**:
The role is a permanent vacancy but offered initially as a long term 12-18-month contract to start, with permanent recruitment to take place later. The finance team are led by a high-performing CFO with a Big4 background. Your Director has a wealth of knowledge to help mentor and progress your career. The organisation is undertaking an ambitious capital work program and a range of other projects to deliver across the business. It is a hands-on role where you will be working closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and Director to deliver the financial analysis and reporting.

**The Role**:
Key responsibilities include:

- Monitor performance against budget for capital projects and project reporting, including scrutinising project on-costs and internal charges
- Produce accurate, relevant and timely monthly reports for capital projects including analysis that explains the financial results, performance against budget and trends
- Assist the Senior Financial Analyst in the preparation of timely financial reports for the senior executive
- Liaise with the Capital Works Department on the preparation of project related spending proposals, including accurate financial information and timely approval by financial delegates
- At project completion aid in the completion of documentation to support asset capitalisation including review of financial data
- In conjunction with the Senior Financial Analyst provide advice to stakeholders on project financial management including suggesting improvements to financial management work practices
- Assist with the development of the capital budget including project cost analysis

**The Ideal Person**:
You are a clear communicator who enjoys working with others to kick goals. You are known for high attention to detail in your work and take pride in getting the job done to a high standard and on time. You enjoy understanding and telling the story behind the numbers and you use your initiative to solve problems and add value. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are equally important as being able to work within the team will be critical to your success in this role. You will need to be CPA/CA qualified with a strong business accounting background and potentially some existing knowledge of government accounting frameworks however this is not a requirement.

You could be a high performing APS5 looking to step up into your next role. Alternatively you could also coming from an audit background as your ability to critic information will be valuable in this role.

You must be an Australian citizen and have a minimum baseline clearance, or the ability to obtain one.

**Salary / Rate**:

- $80k - $92k + 15.4% Super
- 12 - 18 month non-ongoing contract
