**About the Company**:
Our client a fast-growing government grant consultancy is looking for a Research & Development (R&D) Tax Agent to provide expert guidance and support to clients in navigating the complex landscape of R&D tax incentives in Australia.
**About the role**:
The primary role of the R&D Tax Agent is to assist clients in with their eligibility for R&D tax incentives and optimising their claims. This involves conducting thorough research, analysing technical information, and preparing accurate documentation in accordance with government regulations. The R&D Tax Agent works closely with clients, providing advice and guidance on R&D tax compliance matters to ensure their activities align with the eligibility criteria.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Eligibility Assessment:
- Conduct detailed analysis and review of clients' R&D activities to determine eligibility for tax incentives.
- Collaborate with technical experts and project managers to gather relevant information and evidence.
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation and government guidelines related to R&D tax incentives.
2. Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive documentation to support R&D tax incentive claims.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and guidelines while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Review and validate technical information provided by clients to ensure it aligns with eligibility criteria.
3. Claim Optimisation:
- Identify opportunities to maximise clients' R&D tax incentives by strategically structuring claims.
- Provide expert advice on claim strategies and potential areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with clients' finance and project teams to gather necessary financial information for claim optimisation.
4. Industry Knowledge and Continuous Learning:.
- Attend professional development programs and training sessions to enhance knowledge of R&D tax incentives and related areas.
- Share insights and updates with colleagues to contribute to the overall knowledge of the team.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- Previous experience working as a tax agent or consultant with a focus on R&D tax incentives in Australia.
- Solid understanding of the R&D tax incentive scheme and related legislation in Australia.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex technical information and determine eligibility.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate documentation in a timely manner.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple clients, and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for tax analysis and documentation.
