About the role
It is the purpose of this role to provide high level consultation, advice, support and leadership for staff within MNMH working with consumers who experience severe and persistent mental illness, their carers, families and community supports. The position will also focus on improving collaboration between government agencies, non-government organisations and private sector providers and will assist in facilitating the delivery of a coordinated, multi-agency support response.

In terms of technical knowledge, skills, and experience and within the context of the responsibilities described above under Key Accountabilities, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

- Demonstrated high level skills, knowledge, and experience in the provision of mental health assessment, interventions and care planning for consumers presenting with complex mental health and/or dual diagnosis concerns.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills to consult with and engage key internal and external stakeholders, including demonstrated ability to lead community engagement activities and facilitate linkages with key community resources.
- Demonstrated high level skills and confidence in provision of training, education, and secondary consultation.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and project management skills with demonstrated capacity to work autonomously to contribute to the development of service improvement initiatives including effective program review and evaluation, in an environment with competing demands and priorities.
