The Glennie School is an Anglican school for girls in Toowoomba, providing an exceptional education for prep, primary, and secondary students with boarding from Year 5. The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication, and professionalism of its staff.

About the Role:
The Chaplain will work closely with the Principal in providing leadership, encouragement and pastoral care manifesting the vision and values of the School. The Chaplain will work within the Wellbeing team and may teach within the Religious Education faculty if they have teaching qualifications.

The Chaplain will work closely with students, staff and parents, will be a dynamic spiritual leader with a genuine sense of calling to a vibrant boys’ school that seeks to espouse its Christian ethos, in the Anglican tradition, in the lives of everyone in the School community.

This role is part time, during the School term for 8 hours per week.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Building the spiritual ethos and Anglican identity of the School
- Be a visible Christian presence and witness in The School community
- Lead prayers and reflections across the School
- Work collaboratively with the Anglican Church in Toowoomba, making real and lasting connections between local parishes and Glennie
- Seek to build positive, life-giving relationships with students, staff and parents
- Participate in the School’s Pastoral Care Program
- Provide pastoral ministry and spiritual support to teaching and non-teaching staff, one-to-one or group
- Create and coordinate worship experiences and Chapel services for students and staff across the School
- Organise and conduct special school services and family services across the School

Key requirements for this role are:

- University Degree or professionally recognised qualification in theology and pastoral ministry.
- Formal qualifications in Education (teacher) and eligible to be registered by the QCT would be highly regarded.
- Chaplaincy experience in a school context or other environments involving extensive work with young people.
- Able to be well understood when communicating verbally, motivating audiences, listening effectively, and presenting ideas clearly in person and in written form.
- Eligibility to work and reside in Australia and, must either hold or be able to obtain a Blue Card, or be registered with QCT.
