About the role
A unique opportunity to take a lead role in the newly formed CAV Rental Taskforce. The Taskforce Lead spearheads multi-disciplinary, integrated compliance project/s aimed at responding to Consumer Affairs Victoria's (CAV's) regulatory priorities, which typically elude standard or traditional approaches. The Taskforce Lead is responsible for delivering a well-coordinated and outcomes-focused approach to CAV's priority regulatory projects.
The Taskforce Lead is a senior role within Performance and Outcomes, Regulatory Services and Consumer Affairs Victoria in general. As such, the role participates in the strategic thinking and planning that enables the branch to meet its stated objectives.
Leading a multi-disciplinary team, the Taskforce Lead is responsible for the planning, preparation and commencement of the Renting Taskforce, including liaison and coordination across the organisation and with key stakeholders. In addition to drawing on CAV's integrated compliance approach, the Taskforce Lead will be also considering different approaches to regulation and compliance specific to Victoria's Residential Tenancies Act. The Taskforce Lead is ultimately responsible for setting the direction of the Taskforce and ensuring the activities, actions and outcomes are in line with agreed objectives.
In addition to the operational considerations, the role requires regular monitoring, analysis and reporting on Taskforce activities, performance and outcomes.
To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- Responsible for implementation of endorsed strategic priority, and lead CAV's Renting Taskforce program of work, ensuring:

- Projects and tasks/activities are delivered on time, on budget and meet desired results
- That policies, process and systems are in place to support delivery.
- Source and coordinate diverse and diffuse resources located across DGS, obtaining support and buy-in as required for planning, execution and reporting regulatory projects.
- Provide strategic and high-level authoritative advice to the General Manager Performance & Outcomes and Director Regulatory Services on operational and strategic issues.
- Draft and coordinate production of high-quality reports, submissions, briefings, correspondence, and media content, maintaining proper document recording and tracking systems in accordance with internal standards.
- Contribute to the effective management of relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including building and maintaining beneficial partnerships within and outside of DGS including government, industry, and community.

Technical expertise
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects, particularly in relation to complex operational initiatives
- Understanding of the function and relevant legislation of Consumer Affairs Victoria is highly desirable
