Technical Trainer

This role entails two main components;
- Technical Trainer duties
- Field work

The Technical Trainer is responsible for facilitating technical and non-technical development of both internal staff and external delivery partners.

The field work provides a unique experience and holistic understanding of the full broadcast stack not found elsewhere straddling graphics, video engineering, CCU, camera operation and video mixing. This is a necessary aspect of the Technical Trainer role in order to deliver insightful training backed by hands-on experience.

**Role**
- Reporting to the Learning & Development Director
- **Technical Trainer aspect**:

- Creation and maintenance of training packages, on-site documentation and operation manuals
- Delivering training and assessment of trainees in-person, remotely or via blended delivery
- Develop training schedules and agendas
- Work closely with management to make sure training is targeted to upcoming events, new technologies and hardware
- Track and report team member progress
- Proactively maintain skill levels on all new hardware and software features
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety Principles
- **Field work aspect**:

- Attend live sports broadcasts as the primary Field Technician at various sports grounds around Australia and abroad; responsible for the setup, delivery and pack down of the VR system at each event
- Set up, troubleshoot and monitor our in-house proprietary VR software and tracking equipment, involving a degree of physical labour
- Quickly identify, remedy and escalate issues or outages
- Be self contained and self sufficient in delivering the product in remote locations
- Comfortable working unusual and long hours (inline with the sports broadcast industry), in all weather conditions
- Domestic and international travel opportunities

**Experience**
- 1-2 years experience as a trainer or instructor in a technical field in Broadcast, IT, the events industry or similar is highly advantageous
- Experience presenting and engaging in one-on-one and small group learning environments

**Required**
- Based in Sydney
- Valid passport
- Valid unrestricted drivers licence
- Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- Own vehicle (not required to transport gear)

**Nice to have**
- Outside Broadcast experience
- Working technical knowledge of camera systems
- Solid understanding of 3D space concepts
- Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Excellent knowledge of networking principles
- Experience with PC configuration and troubleshooting with the Windows operating system
- Experience with Google Suites including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides
- General understanding of popular sports
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment or similar qualification desirable but not required
