Evolution Mining were founded in late 2011 and have operations across Australia and in Ontario, Canada.

We currently operate four mines across NSW, QLD and WA with a leadership team that continually focus on embedding a values driven culture aligned with our company vision to create a premier, global gold company.

Our Discovery function is based on both the East and West coast. Our Perth based west coast Discovery team provide support across all sites in several key areas including parts of our Discovery team, responsible for our exploration activities across Western Australia and NT, positioning Evolution as a leader in exploratory activities.

About the role

As Principal Geologist - Discovery you will play a leading role in the generation and management of gold and copper exploration projects in northern and western Australia to deliver discoveries aligned with Evolution’s growth strategy.

**Key result areas in this role include**:
Drive the generation of quality gold and copper exploration projects in East Australia, and develop project exploration strategies, plans and budgets to deliver discoveries
Oversee the planning and management of safe field exploration programs including collection of geological, geochemical and geophysical data, and drilling programs
Manage and mentor a diverse and inclusive team of exploration geologists and field assistants creating a high performing and engaged team environment. Source and manage contractors and consultants as required
Maintain productive stakeholder relationships across our exploration tenure, operating with sensitivity and perception, always considering cultural heritage, community relations and environmental implications of exploration activities
Lead the interpretation of geological, geochemical and geophysical data to generate and rank quality exploration targets, and define follow-up program designs
Report to and pro-actively update the Exploration Manager - West Australia and Discovery Group functions on local activities, and present project recommendations to senior management
Contribute to technical due diligence of advanced stage projects
Demonstrate and live behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values (Safety, Accountability, Excellence, Respect) and commit to maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory and licensing standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.

About you

In this key role, to be successful, you will need to demonstrate the below:
A passion for making discoveries, and demonstrated experience in planning and leading exploration teams to successfully execute exploration programs
Previous experience in project generation across gold and copper mineralisation styles and geological environments, including epithermal, IOCG and porphyry styles ideally. Experience in technical due diligence of advanced-stage projects highly regarded.
Good knowledge of key west Australia geological terrains and mineral districts
Knowledge of exploration standards and regulations with experience working under the relevant Safety, Environmental and Cultural Heritage legislation in eastern states
Collaborative, people-focussed leader with an innovative, problem-solving focus capable of communicating and presenting concepts in simple language to a wide audience.
