**The Opportunity**

Our position as a leading pet specialty retailer relies heavily on data-driven strategies, making data an integral part of our decision-making process. **This is a 10 month contract role covering a period of parental leave.**

**Your Responsibilities**
- Utilise your advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets and BI tools (ours is Looker) to analyse and interpret complex data sets, providing actionable insights to drive business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve business challenges using data-driven approaches.
- Query databases using SQL language to extract and retrieve relevant data for analysis.
- Take part in the company wide data governance program, representing the team and working with stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
- Take an active role in metadata management and data quality checks as part of the data governance framework.
- Triage, manage and execute BAU requests as they are received via support channels.

**Your Ideal Skills and Experience**
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Engineering, or other quantitative discipline field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in analytics or business intelligence roles.
- Proficient knowledge in using SQL, GCP, Excel. Experience in BI tools, like Looker would be an advantage. Experience in R and Python is advantageous but not required.
- Proven ability to leverage a large dataset, perform in-depth analysis, and present the data and findings that are easily understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation, planning and organisational skills.
- Autonomous, reliable, with excellent communication skills.

**Role Location**

At Pet Circle we believe that collaboration and team connection is key for success. This role will be based in Sydney with a blended working arrangement of 2 days in our pet friendly CBD offices and the remainder working from home (or the office, if you prefer)
