**Position Information**:
Tempe High School is a proud comprehensive, partially selective, multicultural high school, highly valued by an engaged community. Tempe High School has an enrolment of 1017 students, 67% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds and 3% of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school is committed to enhancing academic growth for all students, irrespective of their backgrounds and/or learning challenges. The diverse Wellbeing and Learning Support Teams nurture the social, emotional, and academic needs of students and provide ongoing continuity of learning as students transition into the senior school. Ensuring that teachers have opportunities to collaborate and improve practice as a means of pursuing excellence is an essential feature of professional learning activities at the school. The strategic directions are: Student Attainment and Growth, Creating Quality Learning Environments and Enhanced Wellbeing. At Tempe High School there is a strong focus on building and nurturing positive relationships, instilling high expectations and promoting teaching and learning which is underpinned by the values of inclusivity, excellence, and wellbeing.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
2. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and support assessment for learning, to provide for students with additional educational needs.
3 Implement, model, monitor and review effective individualised education programs that enrich learning experiences for students with additional needs to maximise outcomes.
4. Strength in interpersonal and communication skills, to build supportive relationships needed to work effectively and sensitively with students, as well as parents/carers, staff, and outside agencies in a caring, multi-disciplinary team, to meet the additional learning and wellbeing needs of students.
