**About the role**:

- Client Service Officer - APS level 3 equivalent
- Starting May 2023 (pending security clearance) until the end of December with a strong potential of extension
- Adelaide CBD
- Full time office based position - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs/week (start time between 7:45am - 9am)
- $39 per hour + super

**Under general direction, within guidelines and established work practices and priorities, tasks may include**:

- Provide a direct service to clients, including the veteran community and providers to support the delivery of medical, allied health or dental treatment, home care services and community nursing.
- Provide transport assistance and organise provision of rehabilitation aids and appliances.
- Process client reimbursements for medical expenses privately incurred and manual health payments. Liaise with clients and providers.

**The above duties may involve**:

- answering telephone queries from contracted health providers and the veteran community as rostered and ad hoc (call centre environment phone queues)
- processing requests for treatment and exercising delegations where appropriate
- preparing routine correspondence and articulate written determination letters that are clear to ensure clarity of decisions
- capturing and recording data
- checking veteran eligibility for reimbursements
- liaising with internal staff from various departments

**Key skills**:

- Ability to manage and organise work in the context of competing priorities
- Attention to detail, especially when conducting proof of identity.
- Well-developed written skills and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
- Well-developed verbal communication skills and the ability to de-escalate contentious calls.

**Essential requirements**:

- Call centre experience highly regarded
- IT agility and ability.
- Reliability
- Ability to handle difficult conversations.
- Shows initiative and problem-solving skills
