As part of our continued growth and internal progression, we are offering a unique opportunity for a Eligibility Officer to join our Self-Insurance team. In this role, you will deliver a customer-centric, empathetic service to key stakeholders acting as the first point of contact as part of the claims lodgement process.

Based in our Darwin office, this is a unique opportunity to bring your existing expertise or transferrable skills to a truly rewarding role. Additionally, you will be supported by our specialist communities of practice for Claims, Return to Work, Injury Management and Mental Health.

How you'll make an impact
  • Act as the first point of contact for injured workers, employers, medical practitioners, etc for all matters regarding a workplace injury claim;
  • Conduct risk assessments and triage of claims severity to ensure barriers are identified and appropriate strategies implemented;
  • Coordinate the claims lodgement process, ensuring key information is obtained from stakeholders to support the timely determination of a claim and requesting additional information where required;
  • Undertake liability determinations for new, secondary or reopened claims in accordance with the relevant information and information at hand;
  • Calculate Normal Weekly Earnings (NWE) for claims;
  • Document relevant information from initial claims lodgement summaries to support a warm handover to Claims teams.
About you
  • A passion for helping people, with experience in administration or customer service. A background in workers compensation, claims or other related discipline would be highly regarded;
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels of organisation and with a varied set of stakeholders;
  • A proactive and holistic mindset;
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail;
  • Empathetic and enthusiastic, with a strong sense of team and collaboration;
  • A resilient attitude.
