About the role

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team at Salamander Bay Doctors. You will collaborate with physicians and other staff to provide comprehensive care to our patients. You will take vital signs, discuss symptoms, document health history, administer medications, and provide resources and information to help patients manage their medical issues at home. Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of a variety of illnesses and injuries and a compassionate, hard-working attitude.

The chosen candidate will provide quality care to a diverse patient mix, including:

  • Immunisations and other injections
  • Triage
  • Wound management
  • Chronic disease management
  • ECGs
  • Explain procedures to patients, providing support and reassurance
  • Assist with care plans and shared health summaries
  • Assist with telehealth consultations
  • Assist doctors with clinical procedures and maintain clinical documentation
  • Daily coordination of the treatment room: stock control, sterilization, and general maintenance of medical instruments and equipment
  • Infection control practices
  • Assist with reception and practice management duties

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enjoys working in a team environment
  • Experience in an accredited General Practice environment
  • A caring and collaborative approach to patient care
  • A sense of urgency, compassion and professionalism
  • Proven multi-tasking, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Experience with Best Practice programs is preferred
  • Knowledge of care plans and health assessments
  • Assist doctors with clinical procedures and maintain clinical documentation

Additional requirements

  • Current Police Check
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Current Working with Children clearance
  • Current First Aid/CPR certificate
  • Immunisation Record
  • Driving licence or photo ID
