Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services are focused on delivering excellent clinical care to children and young people, and supporting their families in line with evidence based practice.

Provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care.

Provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

The Northern NSW Local Health District extends from Tweed Heads in the north, to Tabulam and Urbenville in the west, and to Nymboida and Grafton in the south. We provide acute healthcare services in eight hospitals, and four Multi-Purpose Services (MPS). Our hospitals are located at: Ballina, Byron, Casino, Grafton, Lismore, Maclean, Murwillumbah and Tweed Heads.Our MPS facilities are located at: Bonalbo, Kyogle, Nimbin, Urbenville. • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways.
• Child and Adolescent Advanced Training Certification.
• Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry at the role delineation of the service.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
• Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
• Availability to participate in an on-call roster which covers Older Persons and Adult Psychiatry as well at Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment, including overnight stays as required.
