The Opportunity

We are recruiting for the position of Logistics Technical Assessor located at either RAAF base Williamtown, Brisbane or Adelaide, in support of the E7 Australia Wedgetail program. The primary function of this role is to support the successful operation, maintenance and modification of the Wedgetail from an Assessing perspective. Location: RAAF Base Williamtown; Category: Business Support; Position Type: Permanent; Job Reference: BOE/1874008W2.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver logistics and technical support as directed by the E7 Australia Wedgetail Logistics Support Manager.
  • Action daily Technical Assessor duties including: identification requests relating to new items of supply; collaboration with Australian Defence Force Logistics Managers (ADFLMs); unscheduled construction, updates and maintenance of Australian Defence Aviation Authorised Spares System (ADAASS); processing data amendments/corrections within ERP and other Commonwealth Logistics Applications; action routine Technical Substitution and undertake amendments as required; action identification and logistics requirements for Special Technical Instructions/Modifications (STIs / MODs) and Deviations; provide interrogations and interpretations of engineering technical drawings and specifications; action unscheduled maintenance on the Hazard Materials List; action unscheduled reviews of Computer Aided Maintenance Management 2 (CAMM2) EE400 change requests or alternate Maintenance management system; review and analyse Aeronautical Defect and Deficiency Reports; action other requests as required by the E7 Australian Wedgetail Logistics Support Manager.
  • Provide technical advice to Spares Inventory Managers (SIMs), Repairable Item Managers (RIMs) and Engineers in relation to Statements of Requirements and recommended orders within ERP.
  • Transfer skills and knowledge to others within the program through the sharing of ideas, information and experiences; seek opportunities for professional development and support the contributions of others.
Experience / Qualifications
  • Essential criteria: Aircraft maintenance engineer (CERT IV - mechanical, avionics or structures)
  • Ability to easily integrate into established teams and work within an inclusive environment
  • Top shelf attitude, a desire to learn, work hard and become an integral member of the team that supports a critical Defence capability - the E7 Australian Wedgetail.
Desirable Criteria
  • A fully qualified and experienced Technical Assessor
  • Experience within a Systems Program Office (SPO) environment
  • Demonstrated ability using approved Defence tools such as ADAASS, MILIS or ERP, CAMM2, NetMARRS
  • Ability to understand and interpret the Electronic Supply Chain Manual (ESCM)
