YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT

Reporting to the General Manager, SEAO, this leadership role will be responsible for driving brand performance and managing all retail and operational initiatives in South-east Asia. The Retail Director will focus on building and leading the retail function of CELINE, to ensure that the retail stores provide a holistic client experience and meet/exceed business targets.

Your impact

BRAND

• Act as brand ambassador, actively promote the brand in the local markets
• Propose and effectively implement local marketing, customer relation/VIP strategies to drive a positive exposure to the brand image
• Nurture relationship with business community and competition
• Build brand visibility towards new and existing customers through partnership with clienteling on strategies and initiatives

BUSINESS

• Accountable for all store performance including improving operating efficiency, clienteling excellence, in-store sales and margin improvements
• Analyze business performance and identify growth opportunities through retail insights on competition, tourism and consumer trends
• Develop and implement commercial action plan to grow the business e.g., targeting clientele categories, incentive programs, store openings/relocations and closures if necessary
• Liaise with merchandising on buys; provide feedback and communication for product development and assortment
• Partner Clienteling & Loyalty Manager on Clienteling strategies and initiatives
• Ensure efficient reporting and presents the ability to present performance analytics, forecasting and budgeting
• Participate in lease discussions and negotiations with landlords

TEAM

• Communicate vision, strategy and clear directions to retail team
• Ensure adequate staffing through recruitment, rotation, mobility, training and development in collaboration with the HR team.
• Build and foster a positive, engaging selling culture of high performers through continuous coaching and regular feedback sessions
• Support store leaders in developing staffing strategies and drive development plans for store teams
• Collaborate with Retail Training to ensure proper training on products, customer service and selling skills

OPERATIONS

• Ensure standards of housekeeping and merchandising are always well maintained
• Plan and take necessary steps to have optimum stock levels, appropriate merchandise mix and correct inventory control; maintain inventory discrepancies at the lowest possible level.
• Implement and support all safety and security measures
• Investigate and report on any occurrence outside normal events

• 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in retail management & operations
• Strong leadership with the ability to develop, motivate and influence
• Excellent understanding of the Luxury Sector ideally across Oceania
• Strong understanding of Retail landscape amongst competitors
• Strong Client centric mind and clienteling ability
• Well versed with Retail operational topics
• Strong business acumen, analytical and results driven
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross department and stakeholders
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Interstate travel and occasional international is required
