Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cyber & Technology Underwriter to join our team in Sydney or Brisbane. This role involves underwriting IT & Cyber risks, quoting, and binding accounts within a delegated authority through negotiation and submission conversion from brokers.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contribute to new business growth objectives by pursuing profitable opportunities and developing relationships with brokers in the Tech & Cyber space.
  • Support new Product Development initiatives.
  • Engage with London markets and develop a thorough understanding of the Lloyd's Coverholder model and associated responsibilities.
  • Be an active contributor to the company's success, embracing the responsibilities of a Senior Underwriting role and assisting in areas such as market development, product strategy, mentoring, and policy implementation.
  • Ensure all services are provided fairly and ethically, complying with relevant legislation, regulations, codes, and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times, promoting SURA Technology Risks, SURA, the AUB Group, and the insurance industry positively.
Requirements
  • A well-presented strong communicator, both written and verbally, who can effectively manage a busy workload and multitask with conflicting priorities.
  • A solid working knowledge of IT liability & Cyber insurance in the industry.
  • Certificate IV in General Insurance or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of the legal/legislative environment in which the insurance industry operates.
  • Technical knowledge of IT liability & Cyber insurance products.
  • Ability to build relationships with brokers.
