About our facility

Just a few kilometres from Newcastle's CBD, Uniting Lindsay Gardens, Hamilton, is a warm and welcoming aged care home with three separate households, each accommodating 15-34 residents, including a Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Your role as a Uniting Homemaker is to ensure the community thrives and residents engage in meaningful and enjoyable activities.

What you'll be doing in this role

We are seeking casual carers to support hotel services. In this role, you will provide quality, timely, and effective hotel services such as catering, cleaning, and laundry to residents, supporting their independence and enhancing their quality of life.

Your care work may include
  • Supporting household activities like catering, cleaning, and laundry, prioritizing residents' dignity and independence
  • Ensuring personal safety and risk management by employing appropriate manual handling techniques and food safety practices
  • Assisting residents with community-based recreational and social activities
Who we're looking for
  • No formal qualifications are required, but a Certificate II in Hospitality or equivalent is preferred. If you are not qualified but interested, we can assist you in obtaining this qualification.
  • Previous experience in similar roles such as catering, kitchenhand, cleaning, laundry, or community care is advantageous
  • Must be adaptable, empathetic, resourceful, and embody Uniting's values of compassion, respect, imagination, and boldness
