About The Role

We are seeking Residential Care Workers to join our team in providing therapeutic care and support to our Young People in residential houses located across the Hamilton area. The hourly rate is $34.58 to $41.45, as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 2-3, depending on qualification and experience.

Penalty and allowances are applied on top of the hourly rate. We offer flexibility to match your lifestyle, with both permanent and casual positions available.

Ideally, you will be able to work a mix of shifts including dayshifts, sleepovers, active nights, weekdays, and weekends. As a Residential Care Worker at MacKillop, you will work collaboratively to provide a safe and nurturing home for Young People and be passionate about their wellbeing.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to Young People's emotional and functional needs
  • Support the development of their personal skills
  • Undertake household duties such as cooking and cleaning
  • Engage in administrative tasks such as updating reports and records

While previous experience working with Young People is preferred, we encourage individuals without prior experience who are passionate about making a difference to apply.

Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or relevant tertiary qualification, or a commitment to enrolling in such a course
  • Genuine interest in Young People's wellbeing
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with Young People
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and professionals
  • Respect for cultural and linguistic backgrounds, with a commitment to cultural safety
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop)
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (assistance available)
