Overview

Electrician - Hazardous Areas role at UGL. As a key provider in Defence, UGL supports the Australian Defence Force across 100 locations nationwide, delivering operations and maintenance, asset management and fuel supply services. This role is based at RAAF Amberley in SEQLD with occasional regional travel.

Join a Tier 1 services provider on a long-term operations and maintenance contract to support national security requirements.

The Role

Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at RAAF Amberley and support surrounding locations in the SEQ D region, with occasional travel. You will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform scheduled electrical maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
  • Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel-related assets and equipment
  • Electrical project work as required on fuel installations and related assets
  • Support subcontracted work packages as required
  • Support various sites in the region, with occasional travel throughout QLD
Rates

New Rates as of 1 July 2025

  • Maintenance Trades (Electrical) Level 1 – $45.74 p/h + Super + Licence Allowance (50.40 Weekly) & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
  • Maintenance Trades (Electrical) Level 2 – $49.34 p/h + Super + Licence Allowance (50.40 Weekly) & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
  • Maintenance Trades (Electrical) Level 3 (Dual Trade) – $52.95 p/h + Super + Licence Allowance (50.40 Weekly) & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
What you Need
  • A-grade electrical licence with relevant post-trade experience
  • Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) trained
  • Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
  • Confined space and working at heights tickets are highly regarded
  • Safety-focused approach to work
  • Current or ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance
