About the Role

We currently have an available position for a Fire Services Engineer based in our Perth office.

You will be responsible for assisting the Fire Services Team with all project requirements. You will be an integral part of a highly capable and agile team of engineering professionals with opportunities to lead the Fire Services division into new and existing markets.

Responsibilities
  • Engineering design and calculations utilising design and modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HYENA, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Preparation of Fire Services technical specification.
  • Training and mentoring of junior staff within the organisation.
  • Preparation of fee proposals and project bids.
  • The role may involve management responsibilities at a local or national level, depending on the skills and desires of the applicant.
  • Attendance at site inspections and project meetings, and preparation/review of reports and minutes.
About You

This role would generally suit an experienced Fire Services Engineer with a minimum of 3 years\' local experience.

To be successful in the role you will have the following skills/qualifications:

  • Australian-recognised degree qualification in Mechanical or Fire Services. (Other forms of engineering qualification may also be considered.)
  • National and/or regional registrations and qualifications are preferred (CPEng, NER, FPAS or C14).
  • Project team leading and local client consultation experience.
  • Experience with the Building Code of Australia Deemed-to-Satisfy fire protection systems.
  • Experience with Australian Standards including automatic fire sprinkler systems, automatic fire detection and alarm systems, fire hydrant systems and smoke hazard management.
  • Demonstrated ability of direct engagement with clients, consultants, authorities and contractors.
  • Collaborative approach for working in a multi-discipline team.
  • Have outstanding decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the ability to develop enduring relationships.
  • Have the ability to utilise software packages such as hydraulic calculation/modelling software (Hyena), AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Have prior knowledge or interest in relevant legislative and compliance requirements.
