Eligibility Officer

The Eligibility Officer will be required to make decisions on whether to accept, or reject claims, and transition claims to appropriate Case Managers for ongoing management. The role will also calculate PIAWE, advise Dispute Resolutions Managers for rationale for original decisions, and identify the recovery potential of claims. Strong knowledge of the relevant legislation and resilience to achieve business and Worksafe objectives, through analytical and communication ability, are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities- Make decisions on whether to accept or reject claims and transition claims to appropriate Case Managers for ongoing management
- Calculate PIAWE
- Advise Dispute Resolutions Managers for rationale for original decisions
- Identify the recovery potential of claims
- Utilise analytical and communication ability to achieve business and Worksafe objectives
- 2 years or more experience in initial claims assessment (Case Manager), or 1 year or more in a paralegal or legal assistant position
- Strong working knowledge of Workplace Injury Rehabilitation & Compensation Act 2013 and associated Regulations, and/or a Legal Qualification
