Head of Production
We are looking for a Head Of Production to lead delivery across three teams. You'll sit on the leadership team, report to the CEO, and turn company priorities into clear operational plans with measurable outcomes. Your focus is people leadership, production excellence, smart reuse across channels, and steady coaching of team leads.
About the companyA product-led creative tech company based in a brand-new, purpose-built building in Hobart's CBD. The team brings together artists, producers, event specialists and product makers who care about craft and clear communication. The strategy is set; the focus is on shipping thoughtful work and supporting the people who make it.
On site you'll get chef-made breakfast and lunch, plus barista coffee all day. The space is built for creativity, with generous collaboration areas, content-capture zones and room for event prep
What you will do day to day- Run a weekly production standup across the teams you manage.
- Hold regular 1:1s with the team leads. Mentor confidently and build people leadership capability.
- Own the production calendar and resourcing view. Coordinate budgets through team leads, review estimates, and keep capacity visible.
- Set decision gates and quality checks for shoots, edits, publishing and events.
- Oversee event delivery at a program level: run of show, booth concepts, vendors, freight and timelines. Ensure delivery is on brand, on time and on budget.
- Guide content and video production cadence and standards. Drive practical process improvements that lift quality and ROI.
- Align help/education content with product releases so guides are accurate, clear and easy to use.
- Track outcomes and budget variance. Share up to date updates with the CEO and product leadership.
- Be open to occasional interstate travel for key shoots, events or vendor meetings when your presence adds clear value.
You're a calm operator who brings order to busy creative work without killing the spark. You're a coach, not a critic, building confidence, giving useful feedback and celebrating wins. Low ego, high ownership: you step up when it matters and share credit freely.
You have practical taste, communicate clearly, make smart decisions and follow through. You connect dots across teams, turning one idea into many cross channel outputs.
You're organised by habit, keep clean calendars and tidy workflows that help makers focus. You like being in the room with the team and steady on the ground at events. You're kind and direct, set boundaries early and can say no well.
You will thrive here if you- Have real production experience across content and live events.
- Enjoy turning one idea into useful outputs for many areas of the business.
- Are hands on enough to unblock, and wise enough to step back.
- Are happy to be on site in Hobart and open to occasional interstate travel.
My client is open to paying for you to relocate to Hobart. You must have full Australian working rights in place to be considered for this role. The role includes occasional interstate travel.
Why move to Hobart as a creative- A tight-knit creative scene with real access to artists, makers and events.
- Galleries, festivals and public art on your doorstep, plus easy weekend inspiration in nature.
- Short commutes, fresh air and a calmer pace that helps you focus on the work.
- Great food and coffee culture, and a brand new, purpose-built HQ right in the city so you are close to everything.
- Work on widely loved creative tools.
- On-site meals and great coffee every day.
- Extra paid wellbeing days each year.
- Comprehensive relocation support.
Please click apply now, please include a short cover letter on a content or an event program you led, the outcomes, and one practical decision you made to protect quality or timeline.
