Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria with a well-developed economy based on agriculture, food processing, manufacturing, and transport. The region is known as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as about 25% of Victoria's agricultural output is produced here.

With approximately 65,000 residents and an annual expenditure exceeding $118 million, the area is culturally diverse, with 9.9% born overseas. It offers excellent education, recreation, cultural, social, health facilities, and a developing tourism sector.

Early Childhood Educator – Diploma

Salary: $70,960.76 per annum, pro rata

Closing Date: Friday 13 June 2025

Part Time: 16 hours per week, Permanent

Greater Shepparton City Council invites applications for a Diploma Educator position at our Frank Pullar service. The role emphasizes empowering the team to support family engagement through a collective approach to shared care.

This is a part-time position, 8 hours daily, currently scheduled for Monday and Friday. The Council supports professional development and career pathways in early childhood education.

The service operates from 7:15 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and includes a funded kindergarten program and a Maternal Child Health Service.

All Diploma educators are encouraged to apply. The Council values ongoing professional growth and supports educators in maintaining current knowledge and advancing in the sector.

Qualifications and Certificates Required:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or actively working towards it)
  • Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
  • Current HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Criminal History Check (valid within six months)
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Mandatory reporting and child protection training

Note: The position includes a 6-month qualifying period, during which new employees receive induction, support, and training to meet performance standards.
