The Role:

Join HBO Max Australia as our Digital AdTech and Operations specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in driving the execution and optimization of digital advertising operations.

You will oversee the management of the HBO Max ad server and business rules to ensure seamless ad delivery in line with WBD global guidelines.

Key responsibilities include overseeing ad operations and ad tech integration with the HBO Max Sales Representative (MSR), facilitating collaboration between MSR and WBD global tech teams, supporting the marketing promotions team with their activities for HBO Max, and managing the fulfillment of handsold and programmatic bookings for WBD international ad sales.

Essential experience includes streaming video services, Google Ad Manager, Freewheel ad server, ad tech integrations, and understanding of the programmatic ecosystem (SSPs, DSPs & Ad exchanges).

Key Responsibilities:

Business Alignment & Operational Excellence

  • Optimize HBO Max ad monetization across HBO Max Australia.
  • Drive continuous improvement in adtech and operations, troubleshooting, and revenue delivery.

Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop a culture of curiosity and innovation within the team.
  • Lead collaboration between WBD, HBO Max, and MSR's ad ops/ad tech teams.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders for the implementation of new products and features.

Ad Operations, Trafficking Support & Maintenance

  • Manage the digital tech stack & integration with MSR's tech stack.
  • Manage WBD ad server, site hierarchy, and ad restrictions to ensure licensing compliance.
  • Manage ad operations across the HBO Max Sales Representative (MSR).
  • Support creative clearance by reviewing flagged ads to ensure policy compliance.
  • Provide ongoing support for campaign execution, resolving ad server issues and ensuring efficient operation.
  • Provide dedicated technical support for video ad campaigns, troubleshooting issues with ad delivery, server performance, and video quality.
  • Handle international video ad sales bookings (Sponsorship, Direct IO, Programmatic) within the HBO Max WBD ad server, providing technical support for campaign setup and execution.

FWAd Server Setup, Configuration & Integration

  • Manage WBD ad server (Freewheel) and business rules.
  • Manage commercial break patterns and ad load, optimizing delivery and adhering to licensing terms.
  • Oversee the setup and integration of WBD's ad server, ensuring seamless ad tag implementation and compatibility with MSR ad tech.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, working closely with technical teams to ensure a smooth transition from setup to production ad delivery.
  • Manage inventory share for partnerships within the WBD FW ad server, resolving any conflicts.
  • Collaborate with WBD Partner Tech lead to integrate new features and products into the video ad infrastructure, ensuring smooth operationalization and resolving any technical hurdles during implementation.
  • Support MSR requirements around ad product, feature enablement, and system configurations to ensure smooth monetization.

Performance Monitoring, Reporting & Optimization

  • Monitor ad server performance, including forecasting product, ad delivery, and inventory utilization.
  • Regularly track and report on ad performance to ensure ads are being served correctly.
  • Perform routine checks to ensure ad tags, delivery systems, and reporting structures are functioning correctly, minimizing downtime.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve compliance and security-related issues, ensuring adherence to data protection standards.
  • Monitor commercial break patterns and ad load to troubleshoot any technical issues that may impact delivery or cause playback interruptions.

Data Tracking & Reporting

  • Oversee accurate data tracking integration across ad servers to provide detailed insights on ad performance.
  • Develop and maintain reporting processes to track key metrics, offering actionable insights for optimization.
  • Work with WBD teams and MSR to ensure data compliance and security standards are met.

Ad Compliance & Policy Management

  • Enforce ad restrictions, compliance policies, and commercial break patterns to ensure adherence to WBD global policy and licensing terms and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with WBD teams to manage creative approval processes and ensure all content meets ad policy guidelines, including providing legal approval support to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain secure ad operations by ensuring adherence to data security protocols and preventing unauthorized access.
  • Review and approve flagged ads to ensure compliance with policy guidelines and troubleshoot any issues with creative clearance or technical blockers.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • 5-7 years of experience in digital video ad operations, data and ad tech on the media owner side.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong technical understanding of ad serving and platform capabilities, including hands-on experience with Google Ad Manager. Freewheel experience desirable.

Ad Tech Integrations & Troubleshooting

  • Proven experience with streaming video services and ad tech integrations, along with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize ad tech solutions.

Programmatic Ecosystem

  • Understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, including SSPs, DSPs & Ad exchanges.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Ability to lead collaboration & influence various teams and stakeholders. Sound communication skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with diverse teams.

Compliance Knowledge

  • Knowledge of compliance policies and data protection standards.
